I don’t get it? I’m reading the reviews of Regent and for the most part they are all positive. These reviews are so NOT accurate and are either from Regent’s employee’s…all 4 of them…or member’s trying to lure the unsuspecting to the course so they actually get some $ coming in!!! This place is a goat ranch. Greens need no description cause they don’t exist…bunkers are NEVER raked…tee boxes are cut at 4-5″ and their bermuda…rough always has clumps of grass in it as they never bag or blow…bare spots EVERYWHERE…and that’s just the first hole. Any positive comment’s dating back to 03/04/05 are valid BUT what’s been posted as of late is just NOT correct. Renaissance does have a twin…Regent Park.
Either you played on a bad day or I played on a great day because the course was not like that for me. The greens were awful and bare and weedy and sucked plain out. Agreed. But when I played there were no clumps of grass, the fairway were nice, tee boxes were fine, and sand was well manicured. Either you got ripped off or I got lucky. I think we can both agree that it isn’t worth playing there when Springfield is right next door.
blue monkeys is correct…this is a tragic fall from grace. I must also add that it couldn’t have happened to 2 nicer people. In addition to being in obvious financial trouble, the owners are and always have been (even in the best of times) CLASS “A” JERKS!!!
This course loses it’s greens and conditions faster than any course. You play here in June it is great! Late July and August Toast! I do not know what it is with courses that cannot keep up a golf course. Money is one thing, effort and poor greenskeeping is another.Sad because I love the layout of this track when it is in great shape which is about 2 months a year. It is less tricked up and more fair than Springfield.
I played there in July and it was probably one of the best courses out there. This course seems to seriously degrade through the summer. They need to change their greens like Springfield and Fort Mill otherwise its gonna be a summer only golf course. I guess the management has given up on the course for the year. The sand was in great shape when I played (I know this ‘cos I was in almost everyone of them). Play Springfield or Fort Mill as they are both in great shape and greens are perfect.
