Olde Sycamore is now one of the more dependable public courses for conditions and rates. It is a fun layout where you don't need driver off the tee very often and I've played it for over 2 decades. So it feels like an old friend when I get back here to play. The greens...
Has anyone on here heard or know the current course conditions here? I know the history of the course and owner and the shoddy conditions, but I know it was recently sold to new a new ownership group and I did call a few weeks ago and a friendly lady filled me in on all the upcoming renovations and new mowing equipment coming in to spruce the course up and get it in playable condition. Would like to check it out soon but didn’t want to jump the gun on the course conditions situation. Thanks for any new news about this course.
It was purchased this summer by a Company that owns DOZENS of mid to low income mobile home parks thru-out the southeast! They also own the racket Club in mooresville. They purchased a couple new machines for the course and are renovating the old rough clubhouse. Promoting the sale of new menberships with lot of promises for the future.
No major changes to the course conditions as of yet. Getting rid of the weeds and establishing better grasses will take some time (and the warmer weather of next summer? ).
Thanks for the update, please keep us posted if you go back.
Noticed this course on this site and curious if anyone has played it yet? Mooresville is pretty close and with lower rates for seniors even on weekends and typical course conditions will be hard to beat.
