Divide Greens are better than they were a month ago but still pretty rough….

I sent an email to the GM and CEO of Carolina Trail who’s office is at the Divide stating my disappointment in the course. I said Im still trying to figure out why the course looks this bad. I told him they should put new greens in and reap the benefit as players will come back. Right now you would crazy to pay $43 to play there, absolutely not worth it.

Let me also state that was over a week ago and I have not heard back from them. I said I was a member elsewhere and was interested in becoming a member of the trail but not in the condition the course is usually in. Carolina trail has a couple nice courses but most of them are run into the ground and no idea how to keep a course in good condition.

I ran into the trail GM earlier this summer at the Divide….an arrogant fella to be sure. I commented on how in addition to the lower tier conditioning…they have removed most of the “architectural” interest on this and most of the “Trail” courses. Cut down trees, remove forced carry areas, kill off areas of tall fescue that used to frame holes remove bunkers….GM guy just looked at me and said “greens are a little slow, cause it rained and we couldn’t cut them”. Hence the LAST TIME THAT SMUCK GET’S A PENNY FROM ME. We cannot continue to reward turning every public course in Charlotte into an over-priced Charles T. Meyers “starter” track.

Apparently he is either blind or sucks at his job or both because to just brush it off or not care about comments and downgrade them is beyond me. I don’t think I will ever give them a dime either. There are other courses near me that actually know how to grow grass and cut grass and put sand in bunkers.
