Worst course I have ever played in terms of conditions! I have played over 200 courses as well. The greens were hands down the worst I have ever putted on. Fairways at a private clubs are miles better. Just basically dirt with weeds and bumpy dirt at that. I have never played here before and I was not expecting much. But after 4 holes I was ready to go in and get my money back. Why play when you have a 6 footer for birdie and have to get lucky to make it! My membership just ran out at Emerald Lake and I was thinking about this place instead and they could not let me play there for free. I would choose to pay to play elsewhere, that’s how bad it is. STAY AWAY! Unless you want to waste your money.

  • I have to agree with every comment. I would rather play Sunset Hills for a lot less. Carolina Trail courses have really gone downhill.

  • Ditto…and what’s more, when I made “gentle but fair” comments to a Carolina Trail – manager about how things aren’t what they were 5-6 years ago he suggested I go

  • 100% agree! Played this course 2 weeks ago for the first time and was shocked by the condition of most of the greens. Literally putting on sand. Played for $45 and just like the other reviews I seriously contemplated walking off and asking for a refund after 6. I have played other courses that had a few bad greens and was given a heads up by the staff and even given a discount before teeing off. No warning from the staff here and $45 is about $30 too much.

  • The only reason I kept playing is that i wanted to see the layout and play it once and be done with it. Sad thing is this course is less than 2 miles from my house and was hoping for decent conditions. Emerald lake is $700 cheaper per year with carts and range balls and great greens 9-10 months a year.
