This course is in good shape right now. This is a good course to play when the weather has been wet. The whole course just seems to drain well. I have nothing bad to say about this course really except for a couple of personal issues. The greens are hard (especially the front 9) and the greens are fast (faster then most). If this stuff doesnt bother you consider giving this course a try, especially just after wet weather. Your day will be less soggy and you can probably avoid a cart path only day that you would have a another golf course.
I have to second the comments about the greens. I used to really enjoy playing this course a few times a year — due to the cost (cheap), the reachable par 5’s, muni layout, good conditions, and so on. Ever since they redid the greens a couple of years ago, I’ve not been a fan. I took my Dad there back in November and he hated the greens. They were extremely fast and they almost seem artificial — like putting on someone’s patio or synthetic backyard green. Makes them very hard to read and very punishing when you misjudge the speed and don’t put any spin on your approach and chip shots. They’re almost gimmicky. The course basically lost its appeal for me as a once-in-a-while round. Cause unless you’re used to this type of green, you aren’t going to putt well. If someone knows more about the grass they’re using or where else in the area you’ll find greens like ’em, let me know.
