First time playing this course. It is definitely a step up from some of the other Carolina trail courses. (Tradition, Divide, Links) I enjoyed the layout. Not many flat lies. Conditions were ok. The tees and fairways were above average. The greens were typical of what I have seen from other bent greens in town – soft and torn up. Very bumpy from ball marks. The traps are a disaster – washed out, water filled and rocky. And then there was the pace of play. Granted it was cart paths only but almost 6 hours for the round? There were rangers out but I am not sure what they were doing. One told us that they are trying their best to maintain conditions with less money – and it is noticeable throughout the course.
