"Great course"

First time playing here --- very impressed with the greens as the Sunday Ultra-Dwarf Bermudagrass is as advertised! Very smooth and they roll true. A good variety of holes and good risk/reward shots as well. Hard to get into too much trouble here. Enjoyed it very...

      Hi B-Man,

I’ll be in Charlotte for two weeks on business. Can you recommend a local range or practice facility on the southwest side of town, near I-77 and Tyvolia Rd., Renaissance Park? Any good used club shops I should visit? Thanks

Check out Regent Park just across the NC/SC line. Wonderful practice facilities.

Regent Park has a nice practice area if that’s closer for you. Not so much for bringing a shag bag, but a nice practice bunker, big putting green, separate chipping green, and the course is usually pretty nice as well

Another great area to practice if you live near north Charlotte is Birkdale. Though it is usually very crowded, they have a nice large range, and a fantastic area for practicing your short game complete with 4 flags on a large chipping green. You can hit up to 30-40 yard shots.

Does anyone know where there is a good practice facility around Charlotte? I have been to a couple of driving ranges that were not very good. It seemed very expensive for the amount of practice balls you received. I just moved down from michigan and would like to find a nice place to practice. Up in michigan, there were a couple of places that had unlimited practice.

I would like to conduct an informal poll of users. What is your favorite course / independent practice facility? I fondly remember Stonebridge as being the best, but I now live in Charlotte and am not willing to make that commute just to practice. Birkdale is pretty solid, with a chipping area and practice bunker. Thanks for your input.
