Course was in OK shape given the amount of rain we have gotten. Several areas with drainage/moisture problems. A few tee boxes were aerated and sanded. Bunkers were solid and greens were in better shape than typical at this course and rolled decent.
Has anyone played Tillery Tradition at Mt. Gliead lately? I see the last actual review on B-Man.com was March 2013. The previous reviews were good. I saw rounds for as low as $9 tomorrow, Wed. Sept 11 on Golfnow.com. I called the Pro Shop and the girl didn’t know much except that the greens were aerated on Aug. 19.
Played with my youngest son Saturday afternoon. Hadn’t played there since late spring. Was a little stunned. Last time I played course was near perfect. This time the fairways, although browning a little were okay and the rough was just high enough that you had to walk up on your ball to find it. The greens were the real surprise. Some ok but some getting large brown dead areas. 18 was a checkerboard of bent and bare. Almost unputtable. We got a good rate at $20 each and it was still fine for the cost but I was surprised at the degradation of the greens. Wouldn’t stop me from going back but I’d have to get a good rate.
