"Great course"
Love this course. Its a tough track with elevation changes, narrow fairways, and some tiered greens as well. Lots of bunkers protecting landing areas and some other hazards that make you really contemplate what to hit off the tee. It's a residential course so houses are...
16 Phila. Eagle fans and golfers coming to Charlotte weekend of 10/23. Need recommendation on 2-3 must play courses while staying in Charlotte. Group handicaps range from 12- 25. Probably using Uber to get to and from courses so not too far from hotel on S. Tyron Street in Charlotte. Advice and recommendation greatly appreciated.
Hey, I just moved down here myself from Philly a few months ago…
I’ve played Renaissance Park Golf Course which isn’t too far from where you’re staying. Its no Glen Mills, but it has some very unique holes and a lot of potential, just that ownership doesn’t seem to give a damn about maxing out its potential. This would be a good budget-friendly option.
Further south I’ve played Tega Cay, in South Carolina. Great course all around, easy front 9, challenging back 9. Course is always in great condition… problem is, its not exactly a quick cab ride away… but worth considering and probably best bang for your buck.
I haven’t played the golf club at Ballantyne yet, but hear great things about it. The head pro there has been on the golf ch! annel a couple times. This is pricier, and again, a bit of a distance if you’re travelling by Uber, but if you’re looking for a luxury experience I would recommend it. Might even join you if I was invited 😉 (being my birthday weekend and all).
There’s a little 9 hole course near your hotel on South Blvd… can’t say I’ve heard much about it, or played there… but its 9 holes and owned by the city so, play at your own risk.
Hope this helps. Go Eagles!
thanks for the recommendations…once I decide you are more then welcome
