"Great course"
First time playing here --- very impressed with the greens as the Sunday Ultra-Dwarf Bermudagrass is as advertised! Very smooth and they roll true. A good variety of holes and good risk/reward shots as well. Hard to get into too much trouble here. Enjoyed it very...
Saw this a few days ago giving a slight update on Re-Development at Birkdale, confirming that the current driving range and practice area (which is a nice one) will go away. The article notes that development work could begin by year’s end.
“The driving range is right where the expansion project is, so the range, along with its high protective fence, will disappear” said Principal Town Planner David Peete. Peete noted, however, that the owner could build a new driving range in the future, though that’s not currently in the plans.”
Birkdale Moves a Step Closer to a Mulligan
Would really love to know where else on that property someone thinks they could build a driving range.
I was told by a teaching pro there that they are going to put together an area in the vicinity of #9 green (#9 will be a par 3) and #1 tee where people will hit into a net. Kinda behind #9 green, or so I understood.
