I’m back! Just sent out the latest issue of my newsletter to kick off the new year.

New Year, Same Great Golf in The Queen City

In it you’ll hear why I’ve been a little quiet the past few months but you’ll also learn that this site is brand new under the hood.

If you’re reading this, you’ll notice the Forum got a facelift and now looks and acts more like a real forum. You can reply directly to forum topics and you can also get emails whenever there’s a new post by hitting the Subscribe link at the top.

If you haven’t been here in awhile, use your email address to login now (not your username). The password should still be the same but you can reset it if necessary. Once you login, go to your Profile page to update all your information. You can also now upload an avatar for the forum and your reviews. If you use another blog web site, you may already have an avatar showing up.

Look for more timely updates this season and new features too! Let me know what you’d like to see.

The May issue of my email newsletter is out today with more on my Top 10 list, including the Axios Charlotte article and my chat with Charlie Nance on the “Taking Dead Aim” podcast. The newsletter also contains an invitation to join me at Whistling Straits in October with TripCaddie and tips on how to set up horse race style pari-mutuel wagering for your next tournament.

The June issue of my email newsletter is out today with a few suggestions for playing a nice but easier course in the Charlotte area. You don’t always want U.S. Open conditions or difficulty when you tee it up. So where do you play when you want a chance to shoot a good score? I have been playing a lot of private clubs lately. See which ones I really like. And when you play here in Charlotte, post a review on the site!

The July issue of my email newsletter is out today with my memories of the now closed Charlotte Golf Links. I played that course a ton and was sad to see it go in 2014, but… there’s a twist. Read to hear why I will be reminded of the course for years to come. I also talk about dreams realized (Longview, Pebble Beach). Check it out here:

The August issue of my email newsletter is out today with a report on Charlotte’s public courses with Bentgrass greens. Spoiler alert: some are not doing so well in the summer heat. Also, I make a last call for anyone who’d like to go to Whistling Straits and Erin Hills to play golf with me and TripCaddie. You’ll also get some pics and commentary on my rounds at Sawgrass and Sedgefield. Check it out here:

The November issue of my email newsletter went out today. Sign up if you haven’t already and go check out this report on winter golf in Charlotte, the new Toptracer range at The Divide, my 2-month epic golf odyssey and the latest course reviews from around Charlotte.

I also share a great way to make sure you get your clubs and rangefinder back when you lose them on the course (hint: get yourself some idSquares labels).
