Olde Sycamore Golf Plantation

"Great course"

10/20/26: Review by B-Man

Olde Sycamore is now one of the more dependable public courses for conditions and rates. It is a fun layout where you don't need driver off the tee very often and I've played it for over 2 decades. So it feels like an old friend when I get back here to play. The greens...

Greens were punched about 2 weeks ago, and it was noticeable. It was impossible to make a putt under 5 feet. Despite that, the course was in good condition. Bunkers actually had soft sand, and it was wet only in spots. Unlike many, I have never been a fan of this course, but it is always in great shape and is worth the trip out once or twice a year.

The course was in reasonable shape considering the heat. The front 9 greens had been punched recently, and I believe the back 9 was getting punched this week. May give it a couple weeks before heading back. Bunkers were in good shape as well as the fairways and tee boxes.

The course was in pretty decent shape... No complaints. There were a couple greens that were beat up, but it is mainly due to people not fixing their ball marks. The pace was a little slow, but I've seen worse. It is a good course that opens up on the back and doesn't play like a typical Carolina course. I hope they don't lose their greens this summer.

The course is in so-so shape. The greens are almost healed from aeration, but there are already dead spots on several greens. I wouldn't be surprised if they loose several this summer. The fairways are greening up nicely and the rough is starting to get rough. All in all, I have never been a fan of this course, but if you can find a deal, it's worth playing. I wouldn't pay the rack rate, though.

The course was in great shape. The greens are about 95% healed from being punched several weeks ago...little slow. New sand in the bunkers made for predictable bunker shots. Fairways were green and running. Driving range and practice green were in great shape. Except for a few quirky holes, definitely worth playing!

Noticed this course on this site and curious if anyone has played it yet? Mooresville is pretty close and with lower rates for seniors even on weekends and typical course conditions will be hard to beat.
