"Great course"

6/15/24: Review by GinMillDJ

Tee boxes could use a little TLC. Fairways were in very good shape. Although we weren’t in a lot of bunkers, they were in good shape. Fluffy sand. Greens were recently sanded so they played pretty slow and a little bumpy. But not very many blemishes or dead spots. Friendly...

Deer Brook is a very nice, great value. Worth the drive from Fort Mill. I belong to a club and course, my home course is penalizing if you get crooked. I played White Tees which is about 6400-6500 yards. On almost every hole, you can be a little crooked and still have reasonable play to green. Other than 18, even longer par 4's did not seem to play long. Greens were bit slow but in excellent shape. Nice fairways. Would definitely play at Deer Brook again. I played front with another guy then back by myself. Was easily on pace for round under 3 hours until I ran into slow threesome on 15 :-)

Nice course. Greens were in excellent shape, rolled fast and true. I like all of the elevation changes. Course was a bit wet but not unexpected and not a negative. Pace of play was good. If you don't mind all of elevation changes, would be relatively easy course to walk. I really like the layout.

Nice course, like the greens. But pace of play was initially abysmal. I think it was more group(s) we were stuck behind. Group of 3 in front to over 40 mins to get to third tee, just pick up! Then they let us play through and played next 2 holes at fast pace to only run into next group who was equally slow. So, to play front 9 took us 3 hours. Fortunately, we passed that group on 9/10 and finished back in 90 mins. That pace of play ruins the experience. Also, 90 degree rule --- the cart paths are back breakers :-) But, it is not at all close to me and I like Edgewater, Springfield much better.
