"Worth playing"

The course is in pretty good shape for the winter conditions. There was hardly anyone there because it was cart path only. HEADS UP! According to the pro shop, it will probably be cart path only through April.

So this is like cheating because I'm partial to Waterford as this is my practice course and I walk it a lot, but as some one who has played this course over the years and seen it evolved, it's definitely one of my favorites. There has been a lot of $$$ invested in Waterford, especially over the past two years and it is in pristine condition (not that it wasn't before). Unfortunately they do not allow walking on the weekends anymore but it's a great layout with beautiful views on some holes of the Catawba river (hole # 2, par 5). Like I said I'm partial to this course as I know where to hit the ball to stay out of trouble but the course is always challenging! If you are in the Rock Hill area (right over the border) give this course a go you will not be disappointed. By the way the staff are aces in my book and Ty the GM is the man!!!!

This is one time of my favorites. Anytime I can give my driver a break I'm in heaven!!!! This course was in excellent condition and the greens were lightning fast! Well maintained and manicured. Don't be fooled this course will sneak up on you, especially the "back 9" but overall it's a great course and I look forward to my next round there.

Hate to hear this course is going away, despite not being my favorite however it's right around the corner from home and does offer a lot of challenging holes. I play this course a handful of times a year (usually for tournaments, really good venue for tournaments!). Had a really fun time with my group and the course was in excellent shape, greens a tad slow which is unusually for the Ballantyne Resort Course. The rough was extremely challenging which means if you don't hit the fairway you will pay, not a bad thing just makes the challenge more fun or for some golfers, tougher. Pin placements for a Thursday were interesting, literally some holes had pin placement 5 feet from the edge of the green which made for an interesting day. All in all a great course and it will be missed, hopefully I'll grab another round or two in before they shut down.

So I'm the new guy here. I've been doing a lot of research on the Charlotte area golf scene since I'll be moving there in the near future. I noticed the online booking for Eagle Chase GC matches what the rates use to be $48/$65/$72 (M-T/Fri/Weekend).
