Olde Sycamore Golf Plantation

"Average"

3/31/23: Review by Hunter

Course was in OK shape given the amount of rain we have gotten. Several areas with drainage/moisture problems. A few tee boxes were aerated and sanded. Bunkers were solid and greens were in better shape than typical at this course and rolled decent.

It was cart path only. Kind of surprising, but there were several areas that still had standing water. The greens were smooth with a few spots of grass growing in them. The traps are need of some upgrade. They were very hard and appear to not have been raked in awhile. This used to be the premier course in Union County. It’s slowly declining. Still a good course at this time.

I highly recommend this course. The fairways are beginning to grow in from the winter. The greens were in great shape. Always enjoy this difficult layout. The course has sone nice scenery as well.

Normally I rave about this course. Give it about 7-10 days before the greens mature back from the aeration. There are still significant holes in the greens making it impossible to make putts at this time. Once the greens grow back the course will be fantastic.

A tucked away gem just across the state line. The course is in fantastic shape. The fairways are starting to get grassy and the greens were rolling nicely. I highly recommend playing this course.

Very good shape for February. The greens are rolling faster than last week. All in all I highly recommend this course.

You’re not going to find better greens in February. Fairways showed signs of green grass. They’ve done a fantastic job of clearing sone trees. Definitely worth the time to play this course. It’s tough but fair.

Always has been a nice layout. For the most part physically the course was in good shake for February. The greens were deceivingly fast. The only issue I have with Red Bridge is their lack of on course management. Three singles went off in front of us. They were slow and eventually made a threesome. They were still and we waited on every hole and it was obvious that there were holes open ahead of them. I never see rangers on this course and it always takes more than 4 hours to play here. I go back because I do like the course.

I’m starting to get a little disappointed in Monroe. Being the course I grew up with and knowing its potential, they’ve let the conditions drop the last couple of years. The fairways are struggling to keep any grass and there’s several worn areas where the water has come through. The greens were slower than normal, but rolled nicely. It is still a course I recommend playing. Hopefully, they will put more money and effort to regaining their he condition from a couple years ago.

Overall course was in good shape. Many places still wet with all the rain. Greens were rolling nicely, but have plenty of unfixed divots. They are in the process of cleaning several trees out. Still one of my favorite courses to play.

One of the best hidden gems in Union County. In my opinion it’s in the best condition of any course at the moment in the area. The greens were speedy today and we’re rolling fantastic. The traps had been raked and had decent sand. It’s definitely one of my favorites of all time. It’s worth the drive for anyone that’s never been there.

Still a very nice course. It was cart path only. Not as pristine as it used to be, but a very good municipal course. The greens were slower than usual, but rolled true. I recommend this course to anyone.

I was disappointed. We were instructed cart path only. I asked the started why since there was minimal water around the course. He said their carts wouldn’t hold up charges for a full 18 holes. They were trying to save the batteries. Buy new carts!!! The course itself was in ok shape. The greens were on the slower side, but rolled nicely. A little overpriced in comparison to other area courses.

The greens were phenomenal and fast at Eagle Chase. The pace was fantastic as we finished in just under 4 hours. This is a hidden gem in eastern Union County. I highly recommend playing this course.

It was a slow round. Had group in front of us from 2nd hole on holding everyone up. We finally called on 6th with 2 open holes ahead of us. Nobody ever came after they said they would. Frustrating. The course was in ok condition. Wear and tear and the weather have caused a few areas that could be fixed. The tee boxes need a lot of help.

Always a fun course. Nice layout. Today, knowing going in, was cart path only. The greens were rolling smooth and fast.

I also use GolfShot, works well and I have never encountered issues.
