Emerald Lake Golf Club

"Bad, stay away"

9/30/23: Review by Hunter

Clubhouse is nice. And that's the end of positive things to say Course is in awful shape. Greens are running a 2. Bare spots on several holes. Weeds all throughout greens. Group in front of us took almost 5 hours. Ranger came by once but didn't improve anything.

Definitely a course you should go play. Always in great shape. The greens and fairways are as good as it gets in the area.

The course is in really good shape. They’ve recently used the small tine spikes on the greens. Very small and no affect on putting. They are in the process of “cleaning out” some needed areas and trees. I highly recommend playing this course.

I play here regularly. The course is in fantastic shape. They are in the process of multiple upgrades around the course. The greens are rolling perfectly. I highly recommend playing this course.

It’s a good track in good shape. Price is very reasonable. My biggest drawback here is there’s never anyone on the course to speed up play. We were behind 3 groups entire round with nobody in sight in front.

The course is in nice shape. They’ve aerated recently, but used the small homes. They’ve come back enough that there was much of an issue. Otherwise the course is fantastic.

Always one of my favorite tracks. The greens were perfect and rolling fast. The only downside to the course is they seem to struggle with their tee boxes.

The course was in the best shape that I’ve ever seen there. The greens have come in nicely. Also they were a little speedy. I highly recommend this course.

A little disappointed in conditions. The front 9 greens appeared to be recently verticut. The grooves affected your putts, but they left the waste, cut grass on the greens. This made you putting difficult to read putts as the loose grass and the cut lines into the grass. As always there the tee boxes need plenty of growth.

The course had improved as much as any course in the area. The greens have come in nicely (16 had a couple of spots). Overall I’d recommend this course. Only negative this time are the tee boxes. Quite a few had no or very little grass.

This continues to move up my list. Everything is coming together. Course knowledge helps on a few of the tee shots. Especially 10, feet here you need to play the tee shot further right than you think it the slanted fairway will push the your drive into the trees. The greens were tiling great, but a little slow. You need to land in the correct areas or you’re three putting.

As always the course is in fantastic shape. From tee to green no issues. They’ve done many improvements on the course. I absolutely recommend this course.

Their greens are holding up nicely. There were a few isolated spots in the fairway that were muddy or washed away, but didn’t overly affect your shots. The course is worth a visit.

You’ll love the layout. There’s a couple of risk/reward holes. Overall, the course is in decent shape (fairways and greens). Their tee boxes always have issues with lack of grass. At least at the moment they are not using the fake grass mats this year.

It was cart path only. Kind of surprising, but there were several areas that still had standing water. The greens were smooth with a few spots of grass growing in them. The traps are need of some upgrade. They were very hard and appear to not have been raked in awhile. This used to be the premier course in Union County. It’s slowly declining. Still a good course at this time.

I highly recommend this course. The fairways are beginning to grow in from the winter. The greens were in great shape. Always enjoy this difficult layout. The course has sone nice scenery as well.

Normally I rave about this course. Give it about 7-10 days before the greens mature back from the aeration. There are still significant holes in the greens making it impossible to make putts at this time. Once the greens grow back the course will be fantastic.

A tucked away gem just across the state line. The course is in fantastic shape. The fairways are starting to get grassy and the greens were rolling nicely. I highly recommend playing this course.

You’re not going to find better greens in February. Fairways showed signs of green grass. They’ve done a fantastic job of clearing sone trees. Definitely worth the time to play this course. It’s tough but fair.

Always has been a nice layout. For the most part physically the course was in good shake for February. The greens were deceivingly fast. The only issue I have with Red Bridge is their lack of on course management. Three singles went off in front of us. They were slow and eventually made a threesome. They were still and we waited on every hole and it was obvious that there were holes open ahead of them. I never see rangers on this course and it always takes more than 4 hours to play here. I go back because I do like the course.

I’m starting to get a little disappointed in Monroe. Being the course I grew up with and knowing its potential, they’ve let the conditions drop the last couple of years. The fairways are struggling to keep any grass and there’s several worn areas where the water has come through. The greens were slower than normal, but rolled nicely. It is still a course I recommend playing. Hopefully, they will put more money and effort to regaining their he condition from a couple years ago.

Overall course was in good shape. Many places still wet with all the rain. Greens were rolling nicely, but have plenty of unfixed divots. They are in the process of cleaning several trees out. Still one of my favorite courses to play.

One of the best hidden gems in Union County. In my opinion it’s in the best condition of any course at the moment in the area. The greens were speedy today and we’re rolling fantastic. The traps had been raked and had decent sand. It’s definitely one of my favorites of all time. It’s worth the drive for anyone that’s never been there.

Still a very nice course. It was cart path only. Not as pristine as it used to be, but a very good municipal course. The greens were slower than usual, but rolled true. I recommend this course to anyone.

I was disappointed. We were instructed cart path only. I asked the started why since there was minimal water around the course. He said their carts wouldn’t hold up charges for a full 18 holes. They were trying to save the batteries. Buy new carts!!! The course itself was in ok shape. The greens were on the slower side, but rolled nicely. A little overpriced in comparison to other area courses.

The greens were phenomenal and fast at Eagle Chase. The pace was fantastic as we finished in just under 4 hours. This is a hidden gem in eastern Union County. I highly recommend playing this course.

It was a slow round. Had group in front of us from 2nd hole on holding everyone up. We finally called on 6th with 2 open holes ahead of us. Nobody ever came after they said they would. Frustrating. The course was in ok condition. Wear and tear and the weather have caused a few areas that could be fixed. The tee boxes need a lot of help.
