"Great course"

11/14/23: Review by B-Man

Teed off around 12:40pm but didn't finish until 5:20pm. We had a few slow groups in front of us with no ranger on the course. I don't understand why you have a starter but no on-course marshal to control pace of play. That was really my only issue. The course was in...

Monroe Country Club is in very good shape. This was my second time playing and I was not disappointed. The greens had some patches of weeds on them, but they must constantly roll them out as it did not impact putts whatsoever. They were quick and held approach shots nicely. Tee boxes and fairways were in great shape. The rough has not been mowed recently and was very punishing. The only downside of Monroe is that the driving range is a solid 5-7 minute cart ride from the pro shop- plan accordingly for your tee time. Overall, a great round and a very fun course to play. My round ended with a 110 wedge in for eagle!

My first review on the site! Edgewater is a great course within the greater Charlotte region. It's over an hour from my house (as it is for most), but I never mind the beautiful drive south through cow pastures and country roads. Once you pull into the Edgewater community, you feel like you are at a true golf destination. Upon parking, one of the staff members immediately brings a cart to your tailgate to load up your clubs. Currently, the clubhouse is closed due to COVID restrictions, however the walk-up window is a very convenient alternative to going inside. In terms of the course itself, the conditions were great! The greens were aerated last month, but they have grown and are rolling nicely. They have A1/A4 Bent grass green that always seem to roll true. The collars around the greens could use some attention which made putts off the green a tad unpredictable. Fairways and majority of the tee boxes were in great shape. The layout is fantastic (front is easier than the back) and Edgewater is a true challenge to your golf game- check it out, it's worth the trip!

I played here today and an employee told me that Ratcliff Golf Services lost their contract with this course, not sure if they lost the contract with all the courses they manage . Troon Golf won the bidding.
