"Worth playing"

5/20/24: Review by golferdude

Played the tips..few mud balls due to recent rains. Greens were decent speed but not very receptive (many iron shots and pitches ran off the green). First time here in 8 years. Do like the look with the renovations. Rates are reasonable.

Had a comp pass to play this course from a friend of mine who lives in Albemarle, so I went out and played last weekend. It took me about an hour and half, so this is a little out of the way for people who live in charlotte, but it was a nice change of pace. course was in above average shape with the greens being in excellent shape. this was my first time playing it and i will be back in the future for a good change of pace.

Golf course is in great shape. The greens have held up to the heat very well. I have heard other courses are not faring as well, so I was surprised to see the greens in as good of shape as they were. Quick pace of play, but that was expected on a very hot weekday afternoon. All in all, kudos to the staff here.

A friend of mine made a tee time at Fox Den on Friday afternoon and asked me to play. This was my first time I loved it. I think the reason this place does not get more play is because of the location, but it only took me 30 minutes from Charlotte. The greens were perfect. The fairways still have a few bare spots on them, but nothing really noticable. Overall, the course wsa in incredible shape. It was also only $29, which is around $20 cheaper than other courses in north charlotte, and is in much better shape.

Reply To: Short Game Lessons or Clinic

By B-Man on 5/23/24

Lots of clubs around town will do short game clinics (1-3 hours on one day) that are fairly inexpensive ($30-$100). Stonebridge is one course that offers this. I've taken the one with Fred Bond and got my money's worth out of it. These types of clinics are usually a good...
