River Oaks Golf Club

"Worth playing"

5/20/24: Review by golferdude

Played the tips..few mud balls due to recent rains. Greens were decent speed but not very receptive (many iron shots and pitches ran off the green). First time here in 8 years. Do like the look with the renovations. Rates are reasonable.

The most scenic course in Charlotte! There are so many beautiful holes on this course it is hard to have a favorite! Great course, amazing layout, and very inexpensive! If you have time to play, you must play Eagle Chase!

Best course in Charlotte! The course was in great shape and looked amazing. The fairways were very green and extremely lush. Every ball in the fairway was sitting up! The greens rolled true on all 18. I visited this course last year and was unable to get a tee time... I now know why!!! I paid $26 and playing in less than 3.5 hours on a great course! BEST COURSE IN CHARLOTTE!!

What a gem!! If you have the time to drive north to Rock barn then you must go! The course design is awesome and for only $45, although we got the round for $35. The pro shop was excellent and very accommodating! Next time I visit Charlotte I am staying at Rock Barn and playing both courses!! Excellent course.

I really like Charlotte National, although the night we visited the course was packed and the play was very slow. The group in front of us was five-some but to their defense there was nowhere to go! Great course just wish there was a ranger keeping pace of play! All in all go play this course.

Reply To: Short Game Lessons or Clinic

By B-Man on 5/23/24

Lots of clubs around town will do short game clinics (1-3 hours on one day) that are fairly inexpensive ($30-$100). Stonebridge is one course that offers this. I've taken the one with Fred Bond and got my money's worth out of it. These types of clinics are usually a good...
