8/5/14 - Glen Oaks Golf Club "Great course" This is the biggest bargain in the Charlotte area. Nice course in great condition and dirt cheap. They don't take tee times m-th but there is never a long wait on the first tee. Everything is well maintained and fun to play. A couple of goofy holes such as the par 5 18th where you re-tee at the bottom of a hill after a 200 yard drive so you can hit a 165 yard carry across a lake on your second shot. Tough for us seniors, but fun. Overall a great experience and the best golf value in the area. Read The Review
8/21/14 - Rock Barn Golf & Spa "Best of the best" Played the Jackson course as a twosome. Zipped around with no delay. Great fairways. Rough mown to reasonable length. Nice, soft greens that allowed you to shoot right at the flag. Almost no fungus in the greens, but it was obvious they were watering them to keep them soft. Great golf course with nice scenery and a bargain at $45. Friendly pro shop and efficient cart staff. Read The Review
8/25/14 - Verdict Ridge Golf & Country Club "Below average" Interesting golf course with some challenging holes. Good fairways, but bunkers are like concrete. Only about 2 inches of hard sand before you hit good old Carolina red clay. The greens are the main issue. I would expect dwarf Bermuda to be pristine this time of year, but these were bumpy, thin grass, and generally unpredictable. Some fast, some slow. Don't waste your money on this dog until they figure out the greens and bunkers. Read The Review
