Olde Sycamore is now one of the more dependable public courses for conditions and rates. It is a fun layout where you don't need driver off the tee very often and I've played it for over 2 decades. So it feels like an old friend when I get back here to play.

The course seemed to be in awful shape. Skybrook used to be one of my favorite courses. It was terrible. I'm not sure why, but it felt like I was playing in a cow pasture. I'm not the best golfer in the world, but I'm also not playing on the PGA Tour. I don't want to lose golf balls that are hit 5-10 yards off the fairway. By the end of the day I was sick of searching through golf balls in the long thick rough.
This course was in rough, shape, no pun intended. The rough seemed to fade into the fairways. The course did not appear to have been recently mowed. The rough was absolutely terrible. Finding balls just off the fairway proved to be very difficult at times. The greens were hard and several were filled with little patches of significantly longer grass.
Noticed this course on this site and curious if anyone has played it yet? Mooresville is pretty close and with lower rates for seniors even on weekends and typical course conditions will be hard to beat.
