NOTE: This course closed permanently on 10/31/06. This public course is in Pineville near the NC-SC state line. Great place for beginners and weekend hackers looking for a laid back atmosphere. The course plays fairly straightforward with only a few blind shots and water in play on 5 holes. The course is rather hilly and many fairways are sloped. With greens and tees in close proximity, it's a walkable layout.
Juniors play for free after 1pm on weekends. Twilight rate starts at 4pm.
Update: I will keep this information posted for a little while longer, but the course is now closed. I played this course for the first time (July '03) after speaking with the head pro, Steve DiBo. He's been working hard this year to bring the course back into shape. It's very playable. I took my 10-yr old brother-in-law with me and we had a fun round. The course is very affordable and caters to beginners and average golfers. Many holes play adjacently and allow you to lose a few shots and not lose any balls. Give the course a try and see if you like it.
