TheGrint Tour is a PGA-style amateur golf tour in 18 cities across North America. Players of all skill levels can compete in local tournaments against other amateur golfers for cash prizes, skins and the season-long points race trophy. I took over as the NC Tour Director in August of 2024 and I try to schedule as many of the best public and private golf courses around the Carolinas as I can.

The soft mats feel like solid turf, don’t mark up your clubs and they accommodate regular golf tees. There’s also a great chipping green with a sand bunker. Buckets start at $6 for 45 balls and they offer memberships, lessons and group outings. Inside the well-stocked pro shop, you can also get a few cold ones to drink while you practice. And if you sign up on their web site, you can get an email discount for a free small bucket right off the bat.

The Below Average Golf Association brings players that like competitive matches together with golf brands and sponsors who want to get their names and products more exposure. I connected with this group a few years ago and love the concept. Andy Keene has grown it since then and now runs regular events a couple of times a month. Buca Belts was my original sponsor on this tour and I now own over 27 of their belts!
