Maybe the best greens around. Fairways are bare though. Completely different golf course depending on which set of tees you play. A lot of fun holes, love the layout, wish the par 5s were a little shorter, I can only reach #17. A couple of different tiered greens are tough if you get on the wrong level. Best time to play here is after 3 during the week, all the old farts that live there will not play in the heat, so the course is typically open. To expensive otherwise, but thats how they keep the riff raff out of there.

  • So I wouldn’t say the fairways are bare. They are certainly hard and thin, but mostly green as I played today. I have to second the greens being great. They were rolling well throughout. This place also has the best collection of bunkers in the area, as far as nice white sand goes. I was in quite a few and they were all consistently good. This is a pricey place to play, but the conditions are very good.

  • Like we have before, B-Man, we may just have to agree to disagree. You might not call them bare, but very thin and hard is pretty close. I like lush fairways, and there are many courses now that have them, so I have a hard (no pun intended) time recommending Carolina Lakes right now, especially with the premium they usually ask for.

Noticed this course on this site and curious if anyone has played it yet? Mooresville is pretty close and with lower rates for seniors even on weekends and typical course conditions will be hard to beat.
