Olde Sycamore is now one of the more dependable public courses for conditions and rates. It is a fun layout where you don't need driver off the tee very often and I've played it for over 2 decades. So it feels like an old friend when I get back here to play. The greens...
I just happened to notice tee time rates at Eagle Chase this weekend were north of $70. So that made me investigate. Their web site still shows $45/$52/$72 as the Weekday/Friday/Weekend rates, but if you look at tee times for the next week, you get $60/$70/$82.
That’s quite the increase, especially on weekdays when Eagle Chase used to be the value leader among the nice courses around town.
Eagle Chase is still more worthy of those prices than the likes of Emerald Lake, The Divide and Olde Sycamore to name a few, but the increase leaves a bit of a bad taste in my mouth.
Hopefully, they will put the extra revenue back into the amenities to crank them up a bit with a nicer clubhouse, maybe add a bar.
Thoughts?
I saw that rate increase and wondered if I should’t have left a great review. I last played there in Dec 2022 on a Wednesday morning. We had a 10:20 tee time and there were only 4 cars in the parking lot. We walked 18 for ~ $35.00 senior rate. Hope this is a mistake.
So I’m the new guy here. I’ve been doing a lot of research on the Charlotte area golf scene since I’ll be moving there in the near future. I noticed the online booking for Eagle Chase GC matches what the rates use to be $48/$65/$72 (M-T/Fri/Weekend).
I played there on Saturday and the rate was $72.
I play every Sunday and can confirm weekend rate is $72, including tax.
LOVE the Eagle!!
According to the employees there aren’t any rate changes as of now, I think those $82 rates must have been a mistake. Even on labor day, my friends played for no more than $75. Sometimes rates on the website include range balls, that could have been the additional fee.
