Teed off around 12:40pm but didn’t finish until 5:20pm. We had a few slow groups in front of us with no ranger on the course. I don’t understand why you have a starter but no on-course marshal to control pace of play. That was really my only issue.

The course was in fine shape, with the greens being very good. I would say they were as fast as they get, but someone else told me they were even faster the week before. So this is a good time of year to play Stonebridge. The greens are in their best condition of the year.

I played with a guy who gives lessons here and so I got a very good rate. I highly recommend playing with someone who works at the course (ha).

Flipping the nines (it’s been over a year now) still bums me out because 17 and 18 now are kinda “blah” par 4’s to finish your round. I still love what is now the front 9, especially the finishing stretch of 5-9.

Though the par 3 8th still gives me fits. That green is smaller than you think so there’s no point in playing to the front or back pins. Just hit a club that will put you in the middle of the green. I wish I could take my own advice more often.

Speaking of the par 3’s, I absolutely tanked them all on this day. Two doubles, two bogeys, +6 for those 4 holes. Yikes.

This is a course I enjoy playing, especially the familiarity I have with the layout. It’s just gotten a little pricey for public golf.

  • Overpriced indeed, played there just 4 years ago for 1/3 the price now
