Olde Sycamore is now one of the more dependable public courses for conditions and rates. It is a fun layout where you don't need driver off the tee very often and I've played it for over 2 decades. So it feels like an old friend when I get back here to play. The greens...
Just moved to CLT and I’m looking to join a semi private club, nothing crazy expensive. I would join eagle chase but live and south end and I’m looking for something a little closer . Let me know if you have any recommendations!
Where in South? I really like Springfield. I’m a member of a private club in that area but have considered few times dropping and just playing Springfield. Springfield is semi-private to point you can be a member. Not really sure what semi-private is any more :-)
What Charlotte area courses would be considered in south? I live closer to Lake Wylie, so not sure what non-private courses are south of city. I know of Raintree, Cedarwood, Pine lake but they are all private.

In Southend. So essentially downtown. I checked out Springfield and I’ve heard good things about Monroe CC. Anything less than a 30 min drive I’d consider. Good to hear Springfield is legit.
definitely legit. I’m older. play white tees there and still some longer holes but some interesting holes too. Course has always been in good shape whenever I’ve play there. Just played there about a week ago and it was in great shape. Also, they have a SGA group that is fun group to play with and has a mix of golfers from really to not so…. :-)
really good golfers to not so good…
On that note, I’ve got a question for you. My buddy is coming to play in May. We’re trying to find 2 courses two play on a Saturday. I was thinking eagle chase in the morning but not sure where to play in afternoon. I’ve heard emerald lake, red bridge or Monroe CC. Which would you recommend?
I’ve never played at emerald lake. Only played Red Bridge once but was nice. Only played once at Monroe CC few years back, Interclub match. Driving Range was crap but course was ok. Pretty open, a few difficult greens. Fun, relatively no stress track :-)
