I have to agree with the last few posts about this course. The course is in great shape and it is very difficult. I think the reason that the greens are in great shape is because itís an accomplishment to be on the green in regulation. Lots of people chipping up to the green due to the difficulty of the course. I know Iím not a great golfer but I didnít need to use my divot repair tool the whole round. One thing about the course that I personally didnít like was that the course has five par 5's and five par 3's. I enjoy normal amount of par 4's on a course but like I said this was just a personal issue. Another thing I didnít like was there was many holes that require about a 180 yd tee shot to carry a hazard and reach the fairway or green, and thats if you hit straight shots. Someone like me who struggles with slices a lot gets killed with the loss of distance and the fact that the hazard is further to carry if you donít take the short way across. This course is for the confident golfer.

Jova007200 at 10/7/11 5:17pm – I agree fully Dr Schteeve. When I played on Monday morning, they were out in force! I waited on a few holes for the guy mowing the greens. Had no problem awaiting the well prepared surface. :) A few mowers taking care of the rough, but they were done with the fairways at that point, or maybe waiting for later. I felt bad that I came close to one of them. He came out from behind a tree line just as I hit. Not too close; just close.
DrSchteeve at 10/6/11 10:05pm – If you can leave your ego at the door, consider playing the senior tees or a combo of white/gold. Like many courses, there is too much discrepancy between the regular (white) and senior (gold) - like 6300 to 5700. Without the stupidly long, or stupidly long carry, holes, this course is not that difficult once you get to know it. You do need to play it a few times. Right now it is in perfect condition and they really work to keep it that way - every time I have played it there are several workers out on the course, mowing, trimming, etc. Add a very personable clubhouse staff and very reasonable rates, and I don't think you can beat this course in the Charlotte area right now.
Jova007200 at 10/6/11 5:30pm – Strange, I thought I posted a comment here.... Anyways...The difficulty doesn't surprise me given that Postlewaite designed it. Having been under Pete Dye's Tutelage in the past, target golf and ridiculously bouncy turf is something to be expected. A lot of Dye's courses have traits just like this one, so the fact that Postlewaite picked that up isn't news to me, hehe. :)A course like this is a challenge such that if you can shape your game to playing here, you will have much less difficulty scoring elsewhere. I will probably be visiting here often as I could use a good challenge. It would cost less in balls to dig into their 50 cent a ball bucket. 36 balls for 18 bucks isn't bad; cheaper than x-outs, although they're not new. The thing you gotta do here is just play without keeping score until you feel that your game is getting better. Then the next round you keep score. That way you wont get all bent out of shape in frustration.
The B-Man at 10/5/11 7:43am – I agree whole-heartedly with regards to the long forced carries and difficulty of the course. I've only played here 3 times, but I noted the same things in my first review. The 18th hole is essentially a par 6. So while I would agree it is a beautiful course in great shape with very reasonable prices, I wouldn't take anyone here that didn't regularly shoot in the 80's. A 20 handicapper would get very frustrated at this course.

Anyone been out to Red Bridge lately? Heard they about lost their greens a while back?
